I felt very difficult to write this article as my mind suffered. But I strongly believe that it is the need of the hour and I should write it.We all got shocked by an incident that we heard a few days ago.The news came from Uttar Pradesh. It was about an utter brutality done by some people to a small girl of seven years old.

We, Indian people are even trapped in the darker face of superstitions. Most of these are happening in villages, where the people are illiterate. We are living in the 21st century, yet also the existence of superstitions are not gone from India. We had recently heard about a small girl who became prey to a cruelity as part of a superstition.Another shocking fact was that the couples who appointed their relatives to kidnap this girl who were childless. They believed that if they eat the liver of a small girl, then they can give birth to a child. They took liver from that girls body only after raping her.As a reward the killers receive 1500 rupees.

This may be a single incident that we hear among many.We cannot support this couple because their love towards a child is fake.In most cases, childless couples will have true affection and love for other children. But here it is a contrary as these couples are highly selfish and supported to kill a girl to get their own child. It cannot be forgiven.

This is not only the case of Uttar pradesh.Similar incidents have also happened in Karnataka last December. Here a seven days aged girl was killed by her grandmother on the belief that the family will have to face economic crisis if a boy child will not be born.In 2018 at Madhya pradesh a girl who was born with six fingers in her hands and legs were killed by her mother. Her mother cut the extra fingers of that child and led her child to death.

Even though India had gone through many reforms, we still have not completely succeeded in the elimination of superstition. All these terrible situations echoes us to create a change in society. This can be implemented by providing education, strict awareness about the dangerous sides of superstitions, strict laws for the protection of women and children, especially in villages. Then we can create an India which is spread by the sound of our daughters and their beautiful smile.
