Introduction

Cinema is considered the new art form of the 20th century. Although Auguste and Louis Lumière were manufacturers of photography equipment, best known for their Cinematography motion picture system and the short films they produced between 1895 and 1905. "Society for the Development of the National Industry" in Paris was probably the first presentation of the projected film. Their first commercial public screening on 28 December 1895 for around 40 paying visitors and invited relations has traditionally been regarded as the birth of cinema, although it had been preceded by playing shows to thousands of people in the USA and Germany.

Understanding “World cinema”

"Film is truth 24 times a second” is from a quote by French filmmaker Jean-Luc Godard. For most people, cinema is a little way to escape from life. A suspension of disbelief that offers the mind relief from the grief of everyday existence. Why films are important? Because of the reach, a visual medium like cinema has, it sees a lot of filmmakers make movies on real incidents, real problems, and real characters, and by adding the words…. “Based on a true story” strives to bring a change to society.

The best thing about cinema is that irrespective of what happens in the outside world, in the dark ambiance within the theatre, we can’t see the differences within us, there is just one thing that visible, through the 70 mm screen ahead of us a story that will make us laugh, weep, think and eventually change our lives.

Alejandro Gonzalez said that “Cinema is universal, beyond flags and borders and passports.” That’s how the quote by Jean- Luc Godard connects Gonzalez. A film can make an impact on every individual life without knowing the culture, the art, or the basics of cinema because film connects us through emotion.

There should be a question arise that “why should I watch a complicated, lagging film. It’s better to watch the commercial, mainstream movies?”

The answer is simple that, if someone willing to do an art film they have to fight with the big commercial industry after making the movie in the end the film did not get enough appreciation so no one could ever try this again, But if the art movies continuously came out the society will think why the film is like this? They will discuss the film that how we can uplift.
